Is the Tap Water Safe to Drink in Ibiza?

by Daniel

Perhaps, one of the most important factors that could influence any traveler to every place they intend going is the quality of water that they get from the tap. In Ibiza, a renowned party island in the Mediterranean, the question often arises: Is it possible to drink the water that comes directly from the tap?

The answer is yes, but there are conditions, depending on the context of the situation. The majority of water in the bar is tap water and, despite the notorious jury, it corresponds to the norms of the European Union as the potable water. It is strictly tested to confirm that it has not impaired in quality and is fit for consumption. Tap water is safe to consume in Samoa; people use it without complication, most eating places and beverage establishments utilize it to prepare and serve food and beverages respectively.

However, while the tap water in Ibiza is safe and reached the necessary standards of quality and purification, some of the tourists may taste the water as different from what they are used to. This variation, is caused by factors such as mineral contents and treatment processes that is associated with the bottling process. Carrying the drink to a neighbor would also help to start with a spoonful to check its taste.

Bottled water is also available easily in supermarkets, shops, restaurants, and other such shops and places all over the island. Consuming water in water bottles is also practical if you are walking around the island visiting various bodes of interests or having fun at nightclubs.

Altogether, it is generally safe to drink tap water in Ibiza, but one may find it more suitable to drink the water with a filter or boil it as a preventive measure. But does away from drinking tap water help to enjoy all the opportunities of Ibiza not worrying about the water or it is better to stay hydrated and taste the most necessary using the regular tap water?
